Morning of the Holy-Cross Day – that is the name of this picture painted from nature specially for the 300th anniversary of the monastery.
On September, 27 there is commemorated a Feast of the Holy-Cross Day. This significant event happened during the reign of Constantine the Great, who was the first Roman emperor which stopped the persecution of Christians.
This picture was first exhibited in December 2012 and it has been sent as a virtual gift for people born in these days. Quite spontaneously we have received two reviews... Actually, the paintings of Sergei Opuls cause a desire to express yourself :) The picture has participated in a personal mobile exhibition of the Orthodox cycle “The Islands”, St. Petersburg 2013.
The painting has participated in the art and photo exhibition dedicated the revival of Sojkinskaja shrine in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra (2014), the pre-Easter exhibition in Lavra (2015).
It was presented in the second part of the post-author triptych "Three ages of Lavra" at the Orthodox Exhibition "Belfry" 2015.
The picture was involved in a personal exhibition of Sergey Opuls "The Easter Light" CDC "The Seagull", Kupchinskaya st., 1 to April 10, 2016.
